Empowered business

The Women & Business Daring Circle is led by P&G, in collaboration with American Express, BNP Paribas, Exxon Mobil, L’Oréal, Publicis Groupe and Accenture. The Circle is supported by Knowledge Partner AT Kearney and Insight Partner Clifford Chance. The Daring Circle is partnered with WEConnect International – a global, corporate-led non-profit that facilitates inclusive and sustainable economic growth by empowering and connecting women business owners – as well as with UN Women through its EU-funded programme WE EMPOWER in G7 countries and the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) secretariat, and Cymbi.O as experts.  

Entrepreneurship is a ready path towards economic empowerment: getting a foothold in major corporate or government supply chains can accelerate entrepreneurs along this path, with a multiplier effect for wider communities and economies. If women and men participated equally as entrepreneurs, global GDP could rise by up to 6%, or $5 trillion. Moreover, supply chain diversity offers real value: it increases flexibility and access to innovation, creating opportunities to hear new ideas, apply different approaches, and gain access to additional solutions that respond to customer needs and enable agile response to market demands.

The Daring Circle seeks to improve the infrastructure that enables supplier diversity in Europe – both that connects women-owned and led businesses to large corporates and that enables companies to empower women throughout their supply chains. By doing so, we can improve the state of supplier diversity in Europe and beyond, thereby accelerating the success of women-owned, - led and -empowered businesses. We want to establish supplier diversity and gender responsive sourcing as key strategic considerations of companies and other buyers of products and services. Importantly, we will do this through our own commitments and leadership, our partnerships, and through original, collective research and action.
