What recent trend or news story in your industry demonstrates why inclusive innovation matters for your business and for society? How has this trend or news story impacted how you pursue inclusive progress and innovation through your organisation?
I’m a Professor of Digital Marketing at Emlyon Business School where I had the pleasure to launch and co-Direct a new Master of Science in Digital Marketing and Data Science taught in Paris, Boston and Shanghai and to lead a new Research Center focused on studying the impact of Artificial Intelligence in user interactions and business ecosystems.
Emlyon is one of the best Business Schools worldwide with campuses in Lyon, Paris, St Etienne, Shangai and Casablanca. It aims to be an early maker in developing new competencies and stimulating new area of research trying to explore how Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies are impacting management.
Today’s managers cannot simply analyze consumers or do business in a traditional way. They need to understand human beings, while also respecting their privacy. Companies need new competencies and mindsets in order to pursue inclusive progress and innovation. The MSc in digital marketing and data science stems directly from this fundamental requirement of present-day companies.
The program is based on powerful, essential dynamics.
- Acquiring cultures and skills sourced from management and new computational sciences: the MSc trains participants in the best of marketing and big data.
- Learning from real contexts as much as from theory: the learning path is first a bridge then a gateway between participants and the corporate world from Europe, US and Asia.
- Meeting and immersing participants in a multitude of global cultures, skills, and best practices in order to enable them to put into practice and experience a competency while acquiring it.
The goal of Emlyon in launching this Program is to equip participants (coming from all the continents) with the best toolkit for becoming an early maker of the future in the digital age so that they can take to the skies with the best chances of success in line with their professional dream.
On the Research Side Emlyon works closely with companies and Institutions in order to stimulate and define the research agenda on emerging issue related to Artificial Intelligence in Management. It is a pleasure to work on the creation of new competencies that will shape the manager of the future and the progress of our society.
How would inclusive innovations help accelerate women’s empowerment?
The School aims to accelerate women’s empowerment offering equal access to competencies to participants coming from all around the world with no distinction of gender. I would say that the access to professional competencies, the global environment and the entrepreneur mindset represent the best toolkit to empower women and men to become early maker of the future.
We offer an immersive experience in different cultures, in universities and businesses, and with professionals who are immersed in digital marketing and data science on a daily basis. Sharing experiences helps to inspire as much as to teach. We provide the essential tools: each person will then be able to use them in the next steps of his or her own journey.
