France appoints first female Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany!

Anne-Marie Descôtes was appointed Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany on April 22 and took up her ambassadorship in Berlin on June 6.

She is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) and the French National School of Public Administration (ENA, class1994). She holds an advanced teaching qualification (agrégation) in German, a post-graduate diploma in Germanic Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Archeology. Her latest position at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was Director general of Global Affairs, Culture, Education and International Development, responsible for economic diplomacy, sustainable development, climate policy and all aspects of political outreach

We wish Anne-Marie Descôtes much success in this new position where she will doubtlessly engage for stronger Franco-German ties.
