Women's Forum Asia: Thank you for joining us!

26.09.2019

Back to Paris - We would like to heartily thank you for being part of this outstanding first edition of Women’s Forum Asia. You strongly contributed to taking the lead for inclusion and accelerating through diversity!

The inspiring ideas, debates and calls for action had us arrive in Singapore with aspiration, and leave fulfilled by what we achieved and the impact we made. Let's continue the conversation.

Over 1200 delegates from over 50 countries gathered in Singapore to show that gender diversity is not only the right thing to do, but the only thing to do if we want to fully associate women in the transformation of the workforce. We welcomed more than 120 speakers who shared their insights over the course of the Meeting.

Women's Forum Asia started off on Tuesday with the Youth & Leaders Forum - Taking the lead: Our Future belongs to all of us at Facebook Singapore. It gave youth the opportunity to meet and share with outstanding role models to better understand their role in shaping the future of the global workforce, including Minister Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Communications and Information and at the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.

What an outstanding opening by Mdm Halimah Yacob, President of the Republic of Singapore, where Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister of State Reporting to the Minister for the Economy and Finance, Government of France, joined us from Paris to share the ambitions of the G7 Summit under French presidency. We not only put a gender lens on topics such as smart cities and space exploration, but also focused on the five Women's Forum Daring Circles: Women & AI, Women & Climate, Women & Business, Women & Access to Health, Women & STEM.

We will all remember the incredible moment when the Women's Forum Charter for Engagement: Women Leading Climate Action was signed by many of you, including Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman & CEO of Schneider Electric, and Craig Leeson, explorer and filmmaker of "A Plastic Ocean" and "The Last Glaciers". For those who missed this opportunity, you can still join us in signing here. We're counting on you to become ambassadors of this imperative cause and spread the word!

What a great way to see how to make real change for women's leadership and the future women at work at our CEO Champions workshop with McKinsey & Company. This peer exchange was co-organised with the Singapore Summit to show how women could and should benefit from automation and technological change. Discover the recommendations here.

And because the future is yours, we are also proud to present you with the winners of our Accelerate HER Start-up Pitch Competition, which gave the opportunity to access training, visibility and financing for women-led startups. Learn about the winners here.

We would like to give a very special thanks to EDB Singapore, who made the event possible, believing in the role of Singapore as a pioneer to foster women's leadership in the region and beyond.

We are certain that you are going home with plenty of positive energy, willing to take part in Women's Forum initiatives worldwide, and ready to continue the conversation. We know you will spread the positive energy at home and abroad.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Paris.

Let's engage for impact!
