Casa do Zezinho
Biography:
Tia Dag (Auntie Dag) is a seasoned educator and the creator of The Rainbow Pedagogy – an educational methodology centered upon social interests for full human development of children and youth from vulnerable low income households. In 1994, she founded Casa do Zezinho in a southern neighborhood of São Paulo (Brazil), renowned for its extremely violent environment. Since its establishment, Casa do Zezinho has experimented continuous growth and currently welcomes over 1,500 Zezinhos, within several socio-educational programs that also include their families. With a strong belief in an education based upon reciprocity and listening, Tia Dag collects thousands of stories in the 17 years of CZ.

Casa do Zezinho is a non-governmental organization founded on March 6, 1994 and located in the southern part of the City of São Paulo (Brazil).
Having started with 7 Zezinhos in 1994, the organization welcomes today in its 3,200 m² more than 1,500 Zezinhos, between 6-29 years old, who are enrolled in the region’s public schools.
Casa do Zezinho’s mission is to create conditions for low income girls and boys to achieve, through education, autonomy of thought and action, and the capacity to consciously choose their own paths throughout life and build their personal life projects, becoming, themselves, agents of social change.
