Biography:

Wife of  former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, leading lawyer and committed campaigner for women’s rights, Cherie  set up the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women to help women build small and growing businesses in Africa, Asia and the Middle East so that they can contribute to their economies and have a stronger voice in their societies.  For more information about the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women: www.cherieblairfoundation.org

The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women strengthens the capacity of women entrepreneurs in countries where they lack equal opportunities so they can grow their businesses and become greater contributors to their economies. In offering better access to business development support, technology, networks and finance, the Foundation helps women entrepreneurs fill the gap in the economy commonly referred to as the ‘missing middle’ – small and medium enterprises. The Foundation supports women who are ready to take the next step towards becoming successful entrepreneurs or who are already running small businesses but are struggling to grow.
