ACCELERATING ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND INCLUSION

The Women4Business Daring Circle is committed to promoting and accelerating women’s economic empowerment in business and supply chains. It highlights the crucial role of women’s entrepreneurship and leadership for an inclusive economic recovery.

Entrepreneurship is a ready route towards both economic empowerment and growth. If women and men participated equally as entrepreneurs, global GDP could rise by up to 6%, or $5 trillion[1]

Diversity in supply chains offers a real value, increasing access to innovation and resilience within companies. Yet, the gender gap in supply chain and entrepreneurship remains disproportionately large today. Women entrepreneurs rarely have equal opportunities to compete for large contracts, and face more challenges in scaling and sustaining their businesses.

Many corporations and policy makers are unaware of this issue, or they don’t know how to make procurement more inclusive. The Daring Circle Women4Business advocates for collective action to solve this issue.

Through its original research and activities, the Daring Circle is building awareness and educating about the value of supplier diversity. The Daring Circle released the Toolkit for Action on Inclusive Sourcing, providing organisations with holistic tools and knowledge resources to make their supply chains diverse and gender inclusive.

The Toolkit consists of:

The Inclusive Sourcing Journey — to assess the maturity, reach and impact of an organisation’s supplier diversity practices and provide custom recommendations to advance them.

The Legal Guide for Positive Action — to equip procurement teams with guidance to design affirmative action policies for inclusive sourcing, consciously of what is legally compliant.

The Communications Guide — to assist organisations in building engagement and inspire action on supplier diversity, in the knowledge of best practices, terminology and the business case for gender inclusive sourcing.

The Women4Business Daring Circle is led by P&G, in collaboration with BNP ParibasExxonMobilL’Oréal, Publicis Groupe, Standard Chartered and Mazars. The Circle is supported by Knowledge Partner Kearney, Insight Partner Clifford Chance, Institutional Partner WEConnect International, Expert Member IFC, and HEC as Academic Partner, along with a diverse network of experts and corporate champions.
