Description
Laurence Pessez has been CSO of BNP Paribas since 2010. Under her leadership, BNP Paribas was awarded the “World’s Best Bank for Sustainable Finance” by Euromoney 3 years in a row. BNP Paribas is considered a leader in the environmental space notably for its commitments to align its activities with a net zero scenario by 2050 and its actions on the fight against deforestation. The S of ESG is essential for Laurence: in 2024, the bank was also awarded “World’s Best Bank for Financial Inclusion” by Euromoney.
She is Vice-Chair of the European think tank IDDRI, sits on the board of BSR, a global network of sustainable business experts, and is an elected member on the Banking Board of the UNEP FI.
