Description
Sylvain Amic is President-CEO of the Musées d’Orsay and de l’Orangerie. He was appointed by the President of the French Republic in April 2023, on a proposal from the Minister of Culture. Originally a curator, specialist of the modern and contemporary period, Sylvain Amic started his career at the Musée Fabre in Montpellier. He then directed the three museums of Rouen, before taking over Normandy’s eleven museums in 2016. For the last two years, Sylvain Amic had taken up a position as counsellor to the former Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul-Malak, before being called to the Musées d’Orsay and de l’Orangerie.
