WHY INDIA?

As part of the French-Indian Year of Innovation, the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society is proposing the organization of a Global Meeting in India, dedicated to the decisive role of women in the economic, technological, and societal transformations of the 21st century.​

Conceived as a flagship bilateral event, the Global Meeting India 2026 aims to accelerate women’s participation in the economy, promote responsible artificial intelligence, and strengthen the resilience of societies in the face of major contemporary transitions.​

The purpose of this initiative is clear: to make gender equality a strategic driver of innovation, sustainable growth, and enhanced cooperation between France and India, in support of a forward-looking and structurally significant partnership.​

India is now emerging as one of the most dynamic technological ecosystems in the world, playing a central role in the development of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and new economic models.​

Yet women’s participation in the Indian economy remains limited.​

​The Global Meeting India will take place over two days. These two days will mix a Leadership Summit, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, and opinion leaders for high-level discussions, bilateral announcements, and commitments from action coalitions; and Impact Labs, focused on co-creating solutions, prototyping, and the implementation of concrete projects.
