Biography

Deniz Torcu is Executive Director of Portfolio at IE University in Madrid, where she oversees a suite of international master's programs and works on how higher education responds to shifts in economy, technology, and culture. A seasoned public affairs professional, she spent close to a decade in cultural diplomacy, first with Instituto Cervantes and the Spanish government and later with UNESCO, managing cross-border cultural projects with public institutions and international partners. Currently completing a PhD on diasporic narratives and European identity, she is also an award-winning professor whose teaching and research make the case that inclusion and equal access to opportunity are engines of shared prosperity, not side concerns. Her work on inclusion in contemporary societies, approached from an economic angle, has reached wide audiences through a TEDx talk and commentary in outlets including Forbes and NBC.
