Valeria Palermi was born in 1960 in Pescara, Italy. After graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures she enrolled in the Istituto per la Formazione al Giornalismo (Ifg), Milan (1985-87). For the past four years she has been the editor-in-chief of D La Repubblica (published by Guppo Editoriale L'Espresso), but had already worked for the magazine since its inception, in 1996, until the end of 1998. On top of the weekly magazine, D includes at present six yearly issues of D LUI (men's magazine) and two yearly issues of D Casa (home and architecture).
Before directing D she had been for thirteen years (2002-2015) senior editor for L'Espresso, covering Society and Special features.
