Biography

Dr. Daniel Guinness is a cultural anthropologist and educator specialising in the intersections of masculinity, migration, and social change. Dan is the founder and Managing Director of Beyond Equality, an organisation that engages men and boys in rethinking masculinities to foster more equitable and inclusive communities. Under his leadership, Beyond Equality has facilitated workshops and programs for over 100,000 participants across the UK and internationally. His approach combines anthropological insights with practical interventions to address issues of gender-based violence, workplace culture, and mental health. He earned his PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Oxford, where his research focused on how global labor markets and neoliberal ideologies shape gender identities, particularly within sports contexts. His academic work includes co-editing the volume Sport, Migration, and Gender in the Neoliberal Age.
