Biography
After graduating from Paris-Est Créteil University and the Sorbonne, Anne-Laure Thomas began her career at KPMG Consulting as a consultant in charge of change management and communication projects. In 2006, she joined La Poste to lead projects related to the opening of competition, particularly concerning changes in the postal worker's profession and their impacts. Aligning her convictions with her job, Anne-Laure Thomas created the first Diversity Department at La Banque Postale and subsequently became the Director of Diversity and Equal Opportunities for the 260,000 employees of La Poste Group. From 2014 to 2018, she served as an assessor at the Paris juvenile court, alongside her professional activities.
In 2017, she joined L'Oréal Group as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for France. In this role, her mission is to raise awareness among the Group's 15,000 employees in France about the challenges of diversity and inclusion and to ensure that L'Oréal remains the most inclusive and respectful workplace possible. Among other achievements, she created an internal campaign on disability, "Dare to be yourself," initiated the #StOpE program against everyday sexism, which now brings together over 300 companies, and launched an inter-company initiative to better support employees over 50 in the workplace.
In parallel, Anne-Laure Thomas is actively involved in NGO which tackle social issues, particularly women's rights and disability. In 2005, she founded the association Autour des Williams to encourage medical research on Williams-Beuren syndrome and combat the isolation of families, and she remains its Vice-President today. From June 2020 to the end of 2023, she co-chaired the AFMD (French Association of Diversity Managers). This association, which comprises 140 organizations, aims to enable every manager to integrate diversity issues into their operational practice. In 2025, she joined the Board of Directors of the Fondation Action Enfance, an association that shelters, protects, and educates siblings in danger, from early childhood to adulthood.
