Biography
Sarah Barukh – Writing, Acting, and Transforming to Protect Women Writer and activist Sarah Barukh has become a leading voice in the fight against violence toward women. A survivor of domestic abuse, she has turned her personal ordeal into a collective commitment. In 2023, she published 125 et des milliers (“125 and Thousands”), an investigative work honoring the 125 women killed each year by their partners in France. In the same momentum, she founded the association 125 et après, dedicated to supporting victims and their families while working to prevent gender-based violence. In 2024, the documentary Vivante(s), broadcast on Canal+, retraced her journey and shed light on the concrete actions led by her organization. In 2025, Sarah Barukh launched the Safe Place Movement, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) label designed to guide companies in supporting employees affected by domestic violence and in mobilizing their industries in service of this cause. A member of the French High Council for Gender Equality (HCE), she continues her work with unwavering determination so that every woman can live free, safe, and with dignity—while accompanying major companies in their efforts to prevent, support, and help rebuild the lives of victims.
