Biography

Melissa Bell is a senior correspondent for CNN based in Paris, covering major European and global stories. Her recent work has focused on the war in Ukraine, reporting from inside the country and Moscow, including an exclusive investigation into the Wagner Group and frontline access during Ukraine’s counteroffensive. She has also covered the Russian draft exodus from Georgia’s border and reported from Haiti, where she interviewed Prime Minister Ariel Henry following President Moïse’s assassination. Since joining CNN in 2016, Bell has reported on the French elections, Brexit, Notre Dame fire, and the climate crisis. She began her career at the BBC and holds a politics degree from Warwick University.
