Biography

Melissa Ceria works at the intersection of communications, culture, and community building. She is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the International Center of Photography in New York. A former journalist, she founded Studio Ceria, where she developed speaker series, content, and cultivation events for Fortune 500 companies and cultural institutions. As the creator and host of The Loss Encounters podcast, she has interviewed remarkable people from all walks of life about what we build in the wake of loss. Previously, she directed Marriott International’s Luxury Council, forging strategic cross-industry partnerships, and led the Art de Vivre lifestyle programs at L’Alliance New York, producing and moderating conversations with cultural icons. Her career began as Eye Editor for Women’s Wear Daily and W magazine before she became a fashion writer at Harper’s Bazaar. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Vogue, Time, Elle Decor, Departures, and Travel + Leisure. French-American and raised in London, Melissa is a former violinist and a graduate of Harvard University, where she earned her B.A. in art history. She is fluent in English, French, and Spanish, and lives in Manhattan with her family.
